Carl Kasdorf, 90, of Plainwell, MI, passed away on December 7, 2020 with family by his side. Carl was born in Sturgis, MI on December 24, 1929 to Milton and Jennette (Frohriep) Kasdorf. He graduated from Western Michigan University. He was briefly in the Army. He worked most of his life as an accountant at Plainwell Paper. On August 20, 1960, he married Patricia (Boynton) at Zion Lutheran Church in Kalamazoo. They would be active members of the church during their entire 60 year marriage. Carl had a beautiful bass voice. He was active in Bach, church and community choirs. He was a “human encyclopedia” who knew something about everything. A gentle big man, he was always giving. His greatest joy was sharing his love of camping and gardening with his family. He actively supported his children and grandchildren’s activities. He will be greatly missed! Carl was preceded in death by his brothers, Willis Kasdorf and Ivan Kasdorf. He leaves his wife, Pat; his children, Connie (and Gary) Cota, and Nic Kasdorf; his sister, Selma (Kasdorf) Comstock, six grandchildren and a great granddaughter and a number of beloved extended family members. A small memorial service for immediate family will be held at McCowen & Secord Funeral Home in Plainwell on Tuesday, December 15. Memories and condolences may be shared through their website. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christian Neighbors (Plainwell), the Kalamazoo Symphony or to an organization dear to your heart.
