Janet Brinkert

Janet L. Brinkert, age 83, of Schoolcraft, MI passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 15th, 2019 surrounded by her family. Janet was born October, 19, 1935 to Walter Jennings and Ruth Sandell. After graduating high school she worked for the Schoolcraft School system in her younger years before moving on to Kalamazoo County State Bank where she retired after 23 years of service in 2001. Janet was always active in the Schoolcraft area. She was a member of the Jolly Doers Ladies Club as well as a Member of the Schoolcraft Ladies Library. She was also active with the Schoolcraft Ambulance Service and a Board Member of the Schoolcraft Library. Janet will always be remembered for being independent, caring, and always being active in the Schoolcraft community. She will forever be remembered and missed by all who knew her. Janet's family includes her children: Steven (Peggy) Brinkert, Chris (Susan) Brinkert, Deborah (Alan) Sorenson, Mark (Tiffany) Brinkert; 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; sisters: Alice Jennings and Mary Padilla. Janet is preceded in death by her parents as well as brothers: Walter Jennings and Kenneth Jennings. Visitation will be Monday, January 28th at McCowen & Secord Family Funeral Homes, Rupert-Durham Chapel (409 S. Main St., Vicksburg, MI 49097) from 10 to 11am with services following at 11am at the same location.
