Matthew “Matt” Chappie, age 26, of Kalamazoo passed away too soon on June 13, 2021. Matt was born on April 19, 1995 in Paw Paw, Michigan to Gregg Chappie & Julie Rohrer. Visit with his family and friends on Thursday, June 24 from 1:00 to 3:00 at the McCowen & Secord Funeral Home; Marshall Gren Chapel; 120 Woodhams St. Plainwell (685-5881). A private graveside service will be held at a later time. Matt’s family includes his parents Gregory Chappie and Julie Rohrer, his brother Gregory Scott Chappie; his grandparent Shirley Rohrer; his aunts: Madeline, Kathy, Tamera, Dawn, Shelley and Sheila; his uncles: Charles, Mark, David and Paul as well as several cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Clarence Chester Chappie, Nancie West, Robert Rohrer, James West and Alexandria (Wrona) Chappie; his uncles: Brian and Sonny; his brother Alex. Matt loved the outdoors and hunted every chance he could. He also fished, played hockey, skied, snowboarded and ice fished. He was most at home outdoors.
